sisted on making the Islamic civilization the rubric of the
inception of a project for cultural exchange among civiliza-
tions in the current stage.
Over the coming period, the Center will have a project
where we shall talk about other civilizations, to which we
have made a contribution just like that of their peoples.
In fact, our Islamic civilization is the worthiest of open-
ing that door wide for us to get into the wider circle, where
all different parties come together. In that circle, each and
every party should add serious readings of human signifi-
cance and the chance is now available to all Arab and for-
eign researchers, and various trends and ideologies to take
part.
Believing that media is both an educational and civiliza-
tional means, I put forth the idea of launching multi-lingual
satellite channels, which is a dream yet to be realized and
we shall work hard to make it come true. Such channels
will be dedicated to promoting peace, strengthening human
rights and enhancing mutual understanding between jour-
nalists and citizens worldwide.
In the Center’s first international conference, under the
rubric "Reviving the Dialogue of Peace, Freedoms and Hu-
man Rights in the Contemporary World", I was keen to
bring together people from all specializations and positions
