The objective of the Fahad Al-Salem Center for Dia-
logue among Civilizations and the Defense of Liberty
is to widen the scope of our knowledge to pierce silence
by looking forward and addressing the obstacles im-
posed on our culture, after it was intentionally weak-
ened by waves of colonialism that rendered our vision
narrow, limited and miserable. Moreover, western civi-
lizations went far in adopting and propagating false al-
legations against Islam; sometimes accusing it of terror-
ism and at other times of backwardness and ineptitude.
In fact, I do acknowledge that some of the most promi-
nent western intellectuals have praised Islam and the Islam-
ic culture. Nevertheless, their praise was accompanied by a
tremendous amount of practices that caused our civilization
to derail into directions that reflect neither its spirit nor its
authenticity. Therefore, the Center, whose activities focus
on dialogue among civilizations, is keen on bringing Islam
and the Islamic culture back to their bright reality to prove
to the western world that Islam, with its moderation, is ca-
pable of coexisting and putting all points of convergence
into effect on the one hand, and activating the belonging of
the Arab Islamic societies to their civilization on the other
hand. This is the only way to achieve progress at the level
of information, education, politics, economy, etc… starting
from getting acquainted with our culture. Therefore, we in-
