DEMOCRACY
Democracy originates from a Greek source. It means the
rule of people by people or the power of the people. Fur-
thermore, it is founded upon election on the basis that each
person has the right for electing regardless of his sectarian,
regional or class affiliation. Subsequent to this election, he
who wins the majority holds the reins of the government,
thus it is simply the governance of this majority of the so-
ciety and the minority should abide by the decisions of this
majority.
The forms of democracy have varied and its impor-
tance emerged after being adopted by the fighters of other
regimes, especially monarchy in its several forms so as it
became subject to criticism until it ended up as the worst
regime.
Therefore, it was dealt with apart from the social and
economic conditions and due to the attractive aura sur-
rounding democracy the public was no longer capable of
